Weight Management in Singapore

Physiotherapy Expertise, Lifestyle Medicine Edge

What Is Physiotherapist Led Weight Management?

Physiotherapist-led weight management starts with a clinical assessment rather than a target. We look at how you move, where you carry pain, how your joints tolerate load, and what your current fitness will safely allow. That assessment shapes what is prescribed, which is why this differs from a generic gym programme, where the same plan is handed to people whose knees, backs and starting points are nothing alike. The nutrition side is planned from that same assessment rather than bolted on afterwards.

Our in house dietitian, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and member of the
Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association, works with you on eating patterns that fit your household and schedule, not a meal plan you are handed and told to follow. Around that we look at the habits that hold it together, from sleep to how activity is spread across your week.

We review progress on health markers and function alongside body composition, so you can see what is improving even when the scale is slow to move.

Who We Support

Weight Management with Knee or Hip Pain

Loaded movement prescribed around painful joints, so activity builds capacity without flaring symptoms.

Weight Management alongside Diabetes

Coordinated support where blood glucose and weight need to be managed as one picture.

Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance

Structured exercise and dietary support targeting the risk factors that tend to cluster together.

Weight Management with Low Back Pain

Graded conditioning and movement retraining for backs that have made exercise feel unsafe.

Postnatal Fitness and Weight Recovery

Staged return to strength and activity, paced to your recovery rather than a calendar.

Sedentary and Desk Based Lifestyles

Practical activity planning for long seated days, built around the week you actually have.

Our Weight-Vitae Programme

A physiotherapist-led weight management programme combining exercise therapy, dietary advice and health coaching.

Who Is This For?

Weight-Vitae is designed for anyone who wants clinically supervised support with their weight, particularly where joint pain, back pain, metabolic risk or a long period of inactivity has made unsupervised programmes difficult or uncomfortable to sustain.

Exercise that ignores your joints, your pain history and your current capacity tends to end in injury or abandonment. Prescribing it clinically means the load is appropriate from the start, progression is deliberate, and the programme adapts as your body changes rather than staying fixed.

Weight-Vitae is physiotherapist led and grounded in lifestyle medicine rather than exercise alone, with exercise therapy and nutrition planned from the same assessment rather than in two separate appointments.

Our in house dietitian, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and member of the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association, works on eating patterns you can keep, not a diet you are expected to survive. We measure health and function, not appearance.

You will begin with a detailed consultation and clinical assessment, followed by a personalised exercise and dietary plan, health coaching between sessions, and regular reassessment of your movement, health markers and body composition as you progress.

Programme Components

Your Weight-Vitae programme draws on a combination of the following, tailored to your assessment and reviewed as you progress:

Exercise therapy prescribed around your current fitness, joint load and any existing pain

Dietary advice and eating pattern support from our in house dietician

Health coaching and behaviour change support covering habits, sleep and daily routine

Body composition and health marker tracking, reviewed at agreed intervals

Who Is This For?

Weight-Vitae suits people who want ongoing clinical oversight rather than an off-the-shelf package. It is a particularly good fit if pain has made exercise feel risky, if a health condition such as diabetes needs managing at the same time, or if unsupervised programmes have proved impossible to sustain alongside work and family.

Weight and blood sugar move together. If you have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, the weight side is usually handled inside our diabetes management programme instead, so that medication, diet and activity are reviewed as one plan. Weight-Vitae remains the right starting point if weight itself is the primary concern.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a gym programme or a slimming package?

Your programme is prescribed from a clinical assessment, so the movement suits your joints, your pain history and your current capacity, and it is adjusted as those change. We also measure health markers and function rather than appearance, and dietary support comes from a dietician on the same team.

Yes, and this is one of the main reasons people come to us. Existing pain shapes what is prescribed rather than ruling exercise out. Your physiotherapist selects positions and loads your joints tolerate now, then progresses them as your capacity improves.

Dietary support is part of the programme, delivered by our in house dietician and planned from the same assessment as your exercise therapy. How the two are balanced depends on your goals and your health picture, and is agreed with you at the start.

Dietary support is tailored by our dietician to your household, schedule and preferences rather than issued as a fixed plan. Please confirm the current scope of dietary services with our team at booking, as this is agreed case by case.

Progress is reviewed across several measures, including how you move, your strength and stamina, your health markers and body composition. Looking at more than one measure gives a fairer picture, particularly in periods when one of them plateaus.

Programme length is guided by your starting point, your goals and how the plan fits into your week, and it is discussed with you after your initial assessment. Results vary by individual, and we would rather build something sustainable than promise a timeline.

Our Step-by-Step Approach to
Your Health

At PhysioVitae, we adopt a lifestyle medicine-based approach to physiotherapy, integrating evidence-based strategies for primary prevention (promoting wellness to avert health issues), secondary prevention (early identification and intervention), and tertiary prevention (managing conditions to minimise complications and foster sustained health).

Our structured process is designed to address your needs holistically, combining clinical expertise with personalised lifestyle modifications.

Consultation

We begin with a detailed discussion to understand your health history, symptoms, and goals. This involves collaboration with specialist physiotherapists and, where indicated, other healthcare professionals in their fields of expertise.

Comprehensive Assessments

Physiotherapy experts conduct thorough evaluations, supported by data and advanced technology, to identify root causes and develop a personalised plan aligned with lifestyle medicine principles.

Intervention

We implement a targeted therapy plan that may include manual techniques, a tailored exercise programme, and diet modifications, all reinforced by behaviour change strategies to manage the acute issues and support prevention.

Monitoring

Progress is tracked using health technology and with regular in-clinic follow-ups to ensure ongoing effectiveness and adaptation.

Self-Care

We will equip you with personalised exercises, our specially curated evidence-based programmes for chronic disease management, comprehensive lifestyle recommendations, and innovative digital tools. These resources are designed to empower you in maintaining long-term health and preventing future issues across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
